MAKHUA BIBLES ARRIVE IN MAPUTO!
Today an EPIC and immensely CHALLENGING journey has reached a milestone that many of you have been praying for these past weeks and months. After 47 days and 9 950 miles from Nanjing to Shanghai to Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) to Maputo, the Bibles reached Maputo Harbor last Wednesday (2 March). (Read on below)
Today an EPIC and immensely CHALLENGING journey has reached a milestone that many of you have been praying for these past weeks and months. After 47 days and 9 950 miles from Nanjing to Shanghai to Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) to Maputo, the Bibles reached Maputo Harbor last Wednesday (2 March). (Read on below)
This morning the truck with the container brought the Makhua Bibles to the place where my friend in Maputo is involved in an orphanage ministry, where it will be stored until it can go up to the North. The import happened in what is in my opinion a world record time! Indeed, a testimony to your prayers and an Almighty God!
There were a few very high drama episodes during these almost seven weeks that I will rather spare you the details… We even had to make two payments we were never told of even after repeatedly asking all these agencies if what they sent us was the “bottom-line”. But as always, God knew and, as always, God supplied….!
AT LAST, we are done dealing with different countries, exchange rates (sometimes of four currencies!), Reserve Bank, Import Agencies, Shipping agencies and Printers…!! Hence my “milestone” remark above.
We are working very hard at arranging the transport for the Bibles to Muapula and Lichinga and things are taking shape.
Just briefly one more note: during these past two months we have been discovering more and more just how extensive the work is that we are planning to establish in Niassa Province during these next few years. It is bigger and more challenging that we could have known in the beginning, but also SO exciting! Alongside your continued prayers for the transport of the Bibles and the distribution in Niassa, we really need your support and prayers for this overall Makhua Shirima Bible Project as well.
